Mommy makeover

About Mommy makeover

The name says it all. Motherhood is one of the most beautiful things a woman can experience. Unfortunately, it often goes hand in hand with hormonal and body changes due to pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. Many women barely dare to look in the mirror after having children because they no longer recognise themselves. Do you recognise this? And do you want to get back into shape in life? Essential Aesthetics will help you so that you can look in the mirror again with pride. If you radiate from outside, this will have an immediate effect on your inner self. And be honest: motherhood is beautiful, but it can also demand a lot from us women. A mommy makeover can, with one and sometimes two surgeries, help you find your balance between your inner and outer self again.

Better through international cooperation

If you choose for our clinic, you choose for innovation and proven advice. We work together with experienced Dutch surgeons, but also make use of international innovations and techniques. You will be guided by certified experience experts and surgeons trained abroad who are happy to offer their knowledge and skills in the Netherlands. This way Essential Aesthetics can help you with a mommy makeover, with the same techniques offered abroad, with expertise, knowledge and Dutch safety, but without the risks and long journeys.

What happens with a mommy makeover

A mommy makeover is a combination of treatments. Often:

  • Liposuction and lipofilling;
  • Abdominoplasty;
  • Breast correction; and
  • Chest lift.

This means that you'll feel good in 1 and sometimes 2 times! During a consultation with the plastic surgeon, he will look with you and advise you on which combination of procedures is most suitable for you. For more information, see the treatments you have in mind.

If you want to take the next step in your journey to greater self-confidence and radiant motherhood, book an appointment for a no-obligation consultation with the plastic surgeon. Our experienced international surgeons are accustomed to performing extensive surgeries in a safe and innovative way and will be happy to tell you about the possibilities.

The cost of a mommy make-over depends on the combination of surgeries that are performed. On average they cost around 9,000 euros. Ask the surgeon or a member of the care team for an estimate based on your wishes.

Abdominoplasty

The wish of many men and women is a tighter or flatter belly. This is because the belly is a problem area. You start your life with a flatter belly, but the older you get, the more effort you have to make to keep your belly flat. It soon becomes less fun to have to put that bikini back on again. Skin aging, weight loss, but also pregnancies can cause the skin to start to hang from your belly. No matter how many abdominal exercises you do, there are unfortunately cases where surgery is the only way to get rid of that flabby belly. A tummy tuck can be the solution to get rid of your flabby skin. Never hide your belly again? That is possible, with the right surgery our surgeon can help you. One of the specialities of our international experience expert is suturing. It is customary to only suture the upper skin layer. Our surgeon values a beautiful scar, which is as inconspicuous as possible. He achieves this by suturing each layer of skin so that there is less of a scar.

A tummy tuck is often performed in combination with other treatments such as sucking away or cutting away fat. The surgeon will look at the possibilities with you and advise you which combination of treatments has the best result.

A mini tummy tuck or a total tummy tuck can provide a nice tighter and flatter tummy.

What happens during a tummy tuck

Immediately after the operation a clear difference is already visible. After 3 to 6 months the final result is visible, because the body is then fully recovered from the operation. If there are no major changes such as pregnancy or gaining weight and losing weight again, the result is usually permanent. Discuss with the surgeon what your expectations are and what result is possible to avoid disappointments. The best results are achieved when you are at your target weight. A tummy tuck is not a means to lose weight, it may sometimes be necessary to lose weight first before the operation.

Recovery after a tummy tuck/ mommy makeover

Depending on the size of the operation it may be necessary to stay in the hospital for 1 to 2 days. a drain may be placed to drain excess fluid. we often hear from our patients that the pain is not that bad. after the operation the area is sensitive and you will probably experience a pulling pain. this pain is easy to control with analgesic medication. avoid coughing and sneezing, because the pressure in the operating area aggravates the pain. for best results it is important that you wear a supportive corset for 4 weeks, 24 hours a day. this will support the operated area, prevent excessive swelling and speed up your recovery. after 4 weeks you will only need the corset during the day. after 8 weeks you will no longer need the corset. immediately after the operation the treated area will be red and swollen. bruises are also often visible. most people can return to normal work after 2 weeks. ask the surgeon for his estimate. you should not use a sword for 6 weeks.

Safety precaution

In good time before your operation, you will receive a document with patient information, in which the general national advice is described in detail. Depending on the size of the tummy tuck and your health, the surgeon will give you specific advice. Below is a short summary of the general advice. The best result is obtained by taking this into account.

Before the surgery:

  • Stop smoking four weeks before the operation
  • Start taking Arnica drops two weeks in advance to reduce bruising and swelling.
  • If you are taking medication such as Marcoumar, Sintrom/Sintrommitis or Asprocardio, consult your surgeon about stopping and using these medications again, including when taking Aspirin or painkillers with aspirin such as Advil, Diclofenac and others.
  • Do not use blood thinning medication before surgery.
  • Don't forget to arrange transportation home, even if you stay the night. Driving yourself after the operation is not allowed.
