Buttock enlargement information
What are the options for buttock enlargement?
At Essential Aesthetics we offer various options for enlarging the buttocks: buttocks enlargement with fat, buttock fillers and buttocks enlargement with implants.
Lipofilling (also called a Brazilian Butt Lift) is perhaps the best-known method for creating larger buttocks. This is a complex treatment. At Essential Aesthetics, our surgeons do not believe this treatment is realistic or safe enough to perform with large amounts of your own fat. Our surgeons only perform minor treatments with lipofilling, for example to supplement a buttock enlargement with fillers or implants.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about Lipofilling
Let’s dive into the detailed process of lipofilling, providing you with a clear understanding of what to expect. Our skilled surgeon carefully follows a multi-step approach to achieve your desired outcome during this procedure.
The procedure involves two main steps: liposuction to extract excess fat from certain areas and then purifying and injecting the collected fat into the buttocks to achieve a fuller appearance.
If necessary, a drainage tube might be employed during the procedure to remove excess lymph fluid, contributing to a smoother recovery.
On average, the lipofilling procedure takes about 2-3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. This presents an opportunity to address other areas of concern simultaneously, enhancing the overall impact of the lipofilling.
In a nutshell, our goal is to create buttocks that are more appealing, rounder, and fuller. The actual transformation takes a little time to unfold. The outcome becomes evident within 3 to 6 months after the procedure.
The duration of the beauty of your enhanced buttocks is influenced by the care you provide post-surgery. Diligently following our aftercare instructions significantly contributes to achieving the best possible outcome.
It’s essential to recognize that various factors can impact the longevity of your enhanced buttocks. Your overall health, any potential future pregnancies, and fluctuations in weight can all have an effect. By staying mindful of these elements and adhering to our guidance, you can ensure that your newfound buttock aesthetics continue to radiate beauty and confidence for the long term.
We are committed to facilitating a swift recovery for your body. We provide you with a supportive compression garment immediately following the surgery to assist in this process. This garment serves two critical purposes: it helps maintain your desired body contours and minimizes excessive swelling. Generally, swelling tends to subside within the first week, and any bruises that may appear usually fade after surgery.
The extent of the procedure may necessitate a brief hospital stay for observation.
In most instances, you can anticipate returning to work around ten days after the procedure. During this time, it’s recommended to continue wearing the compression garment, ideally beneath loose-fitting clothing. It’s important to note that prolonged sitting might not be advisable even after this period (please refer to the sitting protocol). For the initial two weeks post-surgery, sleeping on your stomach is best, which minimizes pressure on the treated area. Following this period, you can gradually transition to sleeping on your side but not yet on your back. A regular sitting and sleeping routine is typically achievable after six weeks.
Remember, individual recovery experiences can vary, so it’s always recommended to consult with your surgeon to determine the specific guidelines that pertain to your situation. Your comfort and successful recovery are our priorities, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Like any surgical procedure, lipofilling carries certain risks and potential complications. It’s important to be aware of these risks and discuss them thoroughly with your surgeon before undergoing the procedure. Some of the potential dangers include:
- Blood Clots or Pulmonary Embolism: We take proactive measures to minimize this risk by administering preventive medications.
- Infections: To prevent infections, we prescribe preventive antibiotics before and after the procedure.
- Changes in Sensitivity: While rare, temporary or even permanent, changes in sensitivity can occur. It’s important to weigh this possibility carefully, as while it’s uncommon, it might be irreversible.
- Wound Healing and Scarring: Some individuals may experience wound healing and scarring challenges, though this is usually managed with proper post-operative care.
- Buttock Asymmetry: Achieving perfect symmetry can be challenging, and a slight asymmetry in the buttocks might occur.
Suitability varies, but generally, candidates should have sufficient fat deposits for extraction, be in good health, and have realistic expectations about the results.
It’s crucial to select a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in performing lipofilling. This is why Essential Aesthetics Clinic is known as one of the most reputable clinics for buttock augmentation in the Netherlands.
While you may have heard of people intentionally gaining weight to have more available fat to transfer to their buttocks, we certainly do not recommend this. If you gain weight before your operation, you must maintain that weight gain post-surgery if you want to keep your results. This is because when we lose weight, we do not lose fat cells in one particular area. Instead, our fat cells all over our bodies shrink.
It is best to have this plastic surgery when you have your ideal or preferred body weight because a consistent weight allows your plastic surgeon to determine the amount of fat that needs to be harvested and injected into your buttocks.
In other words, having an extra 10 kilos does not mean you will get better results during the surgery. If you are interested in the liposuction/lipofilling procedure but feel anxious that you might not have sufficient body fat for a great result, do not attempt to gain excess weight before meeting with your plastic surgeon. Remember that the amount of fat required for a flattering lipofilling result depends on the patient’s size, as it should be proportionate to your body.
Surgery can interrupt normal lymph flow, causing lymph fluid to build up in a specific body area, often in the arms or legs, where it can cause swelling. Therefore, after liposuction treatment, it is necessary to perform drainage/lymphatic massages.
During a lymphatic massage, our experienced massage therapist uses sliding, pressing, and cupping movements over the body. The massage stimulates the lymphatic system without compressing the blood vessels, thereby draining the excess lymphatic fluid from the liposuction.
The massages contribute to a better recovery process and an optimal result. It ensures that the contours remain tight without irregular moisture accumulation.
