Osteopathy

What can be treated?

Nicole Hendrichs is performing the Osteopathy treatment.

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that is gaining more and more recognition, also in the Netherlands. Our unique treatment concept combines classical osteopathy with attention to the psycho-emotional well-being of the patient.

Blockages in the body are often related to unprocessed emotions and tensions, stored in the connective tissue system (fascia). This tissue connects everything in our body and influences posture, movement and inner balance.

Osteopathic techniques can release these blockages, which not only provides physical relief, but also sets emotional processes in motion. This creates a holistic approach that brings body and mind into harmony and contributes to deep healing.

About me

I have been an osteopath for more than 20 years and have worked in the different countries of the world and am now back in my hometown The Hague. Ever since I was a child, I wanted to work with people. I started the physiotherapy school in Leiden, which was a very nice time. But I had the feeling that there was a ‘missing link’. I started reading and learning about embryology, not knowing at the time, that exactly this is the basis of osteopathy. After my diploma in Physiotherapy, I moved to Florida and then came into contact with osteopathy. This was exactly what I had been looking for and what felt right. Back to Europe, I immediately started the study and was able to successfully complete it.
The body is a fantastic unity with all its interconnected functions. But this is not the only thing that makes us who we are; our experiences, both good and traumatic, and how we deal with them are absolutely unique and shape us as we are. Sometimes we struggle with this when traumatic experiences block our well-being. That is why I have continued to explore and learn how these trauma experiences are stored in our bodies and how they can be resolved, together with the client. This is a unique concept that I work on with heart and soul. I really love nature and am a creative person, which is reflected in my hobbies: walking, sculpting, painting, cooking, traveling, tango dancing, and playing the cello. I also have an adult daughter and a dog.
