Breast augmentation has become a popular cosmetic surgical procedure that aims to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breasts.
Women opt for breast augmentation for a variety of personal reasons, including:
No matter your motivation for breast augmentation, selecting an experienced and qualified surgeon is paramount in realizing your desired outcomes.
Treatments
Welcome to Essential Aesthetics Clinic, your trusted destination for breast augmentation treatments. With over 10 years of experience, we specialize in delivering exceptional results and helping you achieve your desired breasts.
Our step by step process
Our Care Team will welcome you by phone and ask the necessary questions to schedule a suitable appointment. We will also ask about your current health, surgical time frame, and previous surgeries to help us prepare for your arrival. Again, we would be delighted to welcome you to our clinic!
Your first visit to us is a so-called pre-consultation. It will occur with our specialist, who will guide you as best as possible through this unique journey. First, a specialist is there to listen to your needs and concerns. Then, our specialist will share her expertise and knowledge while trying to match your wishes with the available range of services and treatments.
Secondly, we will show you different options based on the information provided, and together will discuss each care package.
The third step is choosing from our experienced physicians who would suit your treatment. Our specialist will show you the surgeon’s broad portfolio and give you a free copy of our Patient Information Guide to the surgery to reread at home.
The fourth and last step will be with the surgeon selected by our expert. We understand that one visit is not enough when deciding on your body and safety, which is why we encourage a second visit.
By now, we have also received and processed all data for a pre-operative screening.
During this consultation, the treatment’s technical aspects and possible risks are discussed, and you are prepared for the big day!
Arriving at this step of your journey, you have already met our medical team and received all the necessary information. All preparations have been made, and it is finally time for the treatment. We understand that this is a milestone for many. Therefore we do our utmost to make it as comfortable as possible. Our team will share your excitement with you right up to the surgery.
There are three to four check-ups depending on your healing:
The first check-up is three or four days after the surgery to determine whether the plasters can be removed. The second check-up is after one week at the plastic surgeon’s when the stitches are removed.
The third and final check-up is after about six weeks. The surgeon checks whether the wounds have healed properly and whether the eyelid correction has been successful. If a fourth check-up is necessary, it will occur three months after the surgery at the plastic surgeon’s. Our care team will help you with your preparations during your consultation with the surgeon and guide you after the surgery so that you know what to expect and heal as quickly as possible. You will receive a document with patient information before the surgery containing national advice. In addition, the surgeon and the care team will give you advice that is specific to you.
Prepare
Stop smoking four weeks before surgery, and do not start again for at least 2 weeks afterwards. Smoking slows wound healing and increases the risk of infection.
Should you be taking Marcoumar, Sintrom/Sintrommitis, Asprocardio or similar medication, discuss with your surgeon whether you can temporarily stop using them. This also applies to Aspirin and painkillers with aspirin such as Advil, Diclofenac, etc. During the period around the surgery, you can use painkillers such as Paracetamol and Panadol.
Do not take blood thinning medication before surgery.
Do not forget to arrange your transport home. You can not drive yourself after the surgery and it is forbidden.
Ensure you are not alone for the first few nights after the surgery and that someone can help you in your home for the first few days.
Don’t forget to give us your measurements and details for the postoperative bra. We recommend that you buy two bras, this is for your own comfort and hygiene.
Surgery
Remove all jewelry, watches, and piercings. The clinic is not liable for loss and/or theft.
Do not eat or drink anything for the 8 hours before the surgery.
Let your “driver” know when you can be picked up. The doctor will give you an estimate. You will generally remain at the hospital for a few hours after the surgery, and in some cases, it is advisable to stay the night.
Aftercare
You will be supervised by the nurse, the anesthetist, and the plastic surgeon until you leave the clinic or hospital.
We give most patients, in consultation with the surgeon, a prescription for medication (pain relief).
The breasts will feel somewhat tense and swollen after the surgery. The skin has to adapt to the new breast volume. The tension decreases by itself.
Only sleep on your back for the first period. After two weeks you will be able to sleep carefully on your side.
Rest well for the days after surgery.
Discuss with your doctor, when you can shower again.
Don’t lift your arms above your shoulders for the first two weeks. Don’t lift heavy things.
Keep in mind that you will not be able to work in the first week after the surgery. If you have physically strenuous work, it may be longer before you can resume work. Always consult your doctor first.
Sports however are not recommended for the first 6 weeks after surgery.
Swimming or sauna are not recommended for the first 6 weeks.

The implants can be placed in front of the muscle, behind the muscle or partially in front and behind the muscle. The surgeon will choose the best method for your breast augmentation depending on your skin condition, the amount of skin tissue in your breast, the type of implant and the result you desire.
Dual plane
Placing the implants partly behind the breast and partly behind the muscle is called dual plane augmentation. The dual plane technique comes in very handy in cases of breast sagging, which occurs after having children, breastfeeding, losing weight, or naturally with time.
In these cases, a dual plane allows the implant to be placed slightly lower to fill the lower pole of the breast and give a lifted appearance during breast augmentation.
Behind the gland
The insertion of implants behind the breast gland is usually the most simple of the available enlargement procedures, and less likely to cause significant discomfort. This route is also effective for patients with slightly drooping breasts. This method can make your surgery shorter and reduce your recovery time. A possible disadvantage could be having your implant edges more visibly noticeable under your skin. Imaging during a mammogram can also be more difficult when your implants are placed by this method.
Behind the breast muscle
The muscle provides extra cover and helps to hide the upper half of the implant, and so is often recommended for those who have very little breast tissue and whose ribs may be visible through the skin. This may reduce the chances of your implants being felt through your skin and may help reduce the chance of scar tissue hardening around your implants.
It also will make it easier to image your breast during a mammogram. However, possible disadvantages of this placement choice could be a more extended surgery and recovery time.
We recommend no exercise, bath or sauna or heavy work for the first 6 days after the surgery. Keep in mind you will not be able to work the first week after the surgery. If you have physically strenuous work, it may be longer before you can resume work. After one week, you can start doing low-impact work. Refrain from heavy household chores which involve arm extension until you have been in for your check-up. After 6 weeks, you can begin heavy workout routines or do heavy-impact work. It is recommended to wear the supportive bra for 8 weeks. It is advisable, for healthy scarring, to not wear bras with metal armature for the first year after the surgery. Keep your scars out of the sun for the first year and use factor 50.
We are happy to provide you with our minimal-incision technique in breast augmentation, using the possible minor incisions with a more comfortable recovery.
The incision made is about half the standard size of a traditional breast augmentation incision, leaving you with minimal scarring. In addition, these tiny scars will discolor after a year and will barely be noticeable anymore.
With this technique, a particular funnel is used. The Keller Funnel is a cone-shaped nylon sleeve that resembles a pastry bag. During the procedure, a pre-filled silicone implant is placed inside the funnel. Next, the surgeon makes an incision and places the tip of the Keller Funnel inside. Then, the funnel’s slick inner coating allows the implant to slide into position within the breast pocket.
Small Incision and Faster Healing
A smaller incision means a smaller post-operative scar and faster healing with less post-operative pain. The Keller Funnel is a welcome addition for women predisposed to scarring and those concerned with the appearance of any remaining scarring from the surgery.
Lower Risk of Infection
During traditional breast augmentation surgery, surgeons use their fingertips to place the implant through the incision into the breast pocket. But as a no-touch procedure, the Keller Funnel makes breast enhancement surgery more sterile, thus lowering the risk of implant contamination, which can lead to an infection.
Less Implant Stress
The slick coating of the Keller Funnel allows surgeons to insert and position the implants using less pressure. This means the implants endure less stress and are less likely to be weakened during the procedure. Consequently, the Keller Funnel can prolong the life of an implant and make it less likely to rupture.
Reduces the Risk of Infection
The implant can be delivered directly into the breast pocket by sliding through the lubricated funnel. This no-touch sterile approach decreases the risk of contamination by more than 50 percent and reduces potential complications like infection or capsular contraction.
Faster Procedure
It can take several minutes for the plastic surgeon to position implants properly using the fingertips. But the Keller Funnel cuts down the procedure time, expediting your recovery.
At Essential Aesthetics, we work only with the best brands for this procedure: MENTOR® and Motiva® implants. Both manufacturers offer a guarantee on the implants to secure your safety and well-being. Our team is happy to provide you with information about these programs.

Every surgical procedure carries a risk of complications. Here are some of the risks and possible complications of breast augmentation:
What you can do to stay safe:
Self-examination
It is essential to check the breasts for abnormalities for both women with implants and those without. If you have undergone breast augmentation, you may have questions about how to perform a breast self-examination since you now have implants.
Many women fear their breast implants will get in the way of identifying abnormalities. Still, the process of self-examination after breast augmentation is very similar to what you did before you underwent breast augmentation.
Ask your surgeon to show you the distinguishing between your implant and breast. This will help you determine if the changes you feel in your breast are just part of the new implant or if you need to bring them to your doctor’s attention.
Contact your doctor if you observe any dimpling, puckering, or discoloration of the skin, changes to the nipple, redness, swelling, pain, or a painless, hard mass. Your doctor can examine the suspicious spot and order additional testing-a mammogram, MRI or biopsy-if it’s unclear whether the spot you’ve found is harmless.
Mammography and ultrasound
All women age 49 through 75 receive an invitation to the population breast cancer screening every 2 years. A mammogram or ultrasound scan can detect breast cancer at an early stage. Even if you have a breast prosthesis, you can have a mammogram or ultrasound scan. Let the radiologist know that you have an implant.
