Fat Grafting Info
Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, is a sophisticated and rejuvenating procedure that utilizes your body’s own fat to restore volume and enhance the contours of your face. By carefully harvesting fat from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, this technique allows for the natural replenishment of lost volume in the face, smoothing fine lines and filling hollow areas.
The result is a refreshed, youthful appearance, with the added benefit of using your body’s own tissue for a harmonious and natural outcome. With precision and artistry, fat grafting offers a subtle yet transformative approach to facial rejuvenation, enhancing your beauty while maintaining the essence of your unique features.

FAQ
Fat is transferred to your face with fat grafting to fill where needed, restoring your face to its youthful shape and contours.
This procedure involves removing activated fat tissue from another part of your body, to fill volume loss and enhance forms, mainly in the face, hips and breasts. Fat grafting is used primarily in the medical world for therapeutic purposes to restore trauma or natural asymmetry, including correction of secondary contour defects after breast reconstruction, scar contractions, and treating burns or radiodermatitis.
Fat grafting is a well-tried and tested method suitable for cosmetic facial, breast, and hip adjustments.
Most fat grafting (fat transplantation) procedures in our practice are performed with local anesthesia, so you are awake but feel no discomfort or pain
It is possible to undergo this procedure with us under general anesthesia (full anesthesia) in a certified and accredited surgical center.
The choice is always yours. Most patients choose local anesthesia for faster recovery and lower costs. Local anesthesia is a less invasive procedure with minimal risks.
Our facial fat transfer procedure works so well because it is the most natural replacement for facial fat. Restoring lost volume with your fat gives the most natural rejuvenation results.
In addition, your fat cells have abundant stem cells. Stem cells have been associated with long-lasting rejuvenation effects, such as skin clarity, skin tone and texture, and even pore reduction.
Although you immediately see a difference, it takes a while before the fat cells achieve their job and the optimal effect. This process takes several months.
The final result is achieved after 2-3 months, not less. However, you will already have noticed a desired increase in fullness because the fat grafts transition from surviving in a new environment to returning to their natural biological ways of storing fat.
The most important complications are contour irregularities (such as lumps or bumps), no optimal cosmetic distribution, and poor fat removal. Our experienced fat grafting surgeon minimizes all these possible complications
Swelling and sometimes bruising is part of the healing phase. The swelling worsens on days 2-4, followed by an accelerated healing process from day 5.
Sometimes, patients have recovered sufficiently after one week and have minimal post-operative swelling. However, typically patients need a little more time. After 1 to 2 weeks, most of the swelling and sometimes the bruising is resolved.
The cells continue to develop positively over 4-6 weeks. After 6-8 weeks, most fat cells are present. Many patients take 4-5 days off to recover, depending on the type of work.
