- Stop smoking four weeks before the operation and do not start again for at least 2 weeks afterwards. Smoking slows down wound healing and increases the risk of infection.
- Do not take blood-thinning medication before the operation.
- Do not forget to arrange your transport home. You are not allowed to drive yourself after the operation, because this is prohibited by law due to the medication.
- Keep your head elevated, because this helps to reduce the swelling.
- Make sure you have a cooling pack at home.
- Intensive exercise is not recommended for the first 6 weeks after the operation
