When do you need a Neck Lift ?

This procedure is performed under local anesthetic. The surgeon makes an incision in the shape of a Z under your chin and removes the excess skin. This treatment only affects the neck and leaves a visible scar. You may get the best result by combining this treatment with liposuction. Our surgeon may also advise a different procedure or a combination of procedures because the muscles have also slackened. This procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes an incision behind the ears, sometimes up to the hairline. Then he carefully loosens the skin and shortens the flaccid muscles. The skin is then tightened and stitched. Sometimes a further Z-plasty is necessary to remove excess fat and skin and restructure the local muscles again.
You will see results as soon as the bandage comes off. After 1 – 1.5 months, the result is even more visible. The scars are at the ear, under the chin or in the hairline. The plastic surgeon always performs the procedure to make the scars as inconspicuous as possible. The result depends on the chosen procedure and the health of the patient. The effects of the neck lift remain visible for about 10-15 years.
You don’t usually feel much pain after a neck lift. You will wear a support bandage immediately after the procedure to prevent swelling and speed up healing. You wear this bandage at least 1 week after the neck lift. There is a risk of swelling and bruising around the treated area. You will usually already know the result a few weeks after the neck lift. However, the final result of the neck lift, as in almost all plastic procedures, can only be fully assessed after one year.
